About the role
The School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Project Officer to support an interdisciplinary project evaluating traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine (TCIM) interventions for symptom management in cancer patients. The role bridges patient‑centered clinical trial activities with laboratory‑based biospecimen handling and multi‑omics investigations.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate randomized clinical trials, including ethics/IRB applications and regulatory compliance.
- Manage trial logistics, patient recruitment, scheduling, and follow‑up.
- Provide or arrange integrative medicine treatments for study participants.
- Oversee collection, processing, and management of clinical data and biospecimens.
- Conduct data entry, curation, quality control, and preliminary analyses.
- Supervise laboratory operations, ensuring safety and good laboratory practices.
- Handle procurement of equipment, reagents, and consumables.
- Train and onboard new research staff and students.
- Liaise with clinical collaborators, institutional partners, and external stakeholders.
- Support project reporting and documentation for funding and administrative purposes.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, public health, social sciences, or a related field.
- Practitioner licence in a relevant TCIM discipline (e.g., traditional Chinese medicine, massage therapy, physical therapy, exercise therapy) that can be registered in Singapore.
- Training or experience in complementary and integrative medicine practice or research from a reputable university.
- 1–2 years of experience in clinical trial coordination and IRB submissions.
