Project Officer – Electroplating Research

About the role

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at NTU is seeking a Project Officer to lead research on chemical surface‑finishing processes, including electroless plating, electroplating and electrochemical etching.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise chemical surface‑finishing processes such as electroless plating, electroplating and electrochemical etching, targeting improved uniformity, adhesion and throughput.
• Design and conduct experiments, analyse data using appropriate statistical methods, and maintain detailed laboratory records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary research staff, contribute to project planning, progress reporting, and preparation of scientific publications.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and proper handling of chemicals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, material engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with electrochemical equipment such as plating baths, power supplies, and analytical instrumentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a research team.
