Quality Assurance Technical Specialist (Tuas Plant)

About the role

Becton Dickinson Medical (S) Pte. Ltd., part of BD, one of the largest global medical technology companies, is hiring a Quality Assurance Technical Specialist (Technical Leader) at its Tuas Avenue 2 plant. The role ensures the quality and compliance of the company's products and processes, leads technical quality initiatives, gives expert guidance on complex quality issues and drives continuous improvement within the quality management system.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior QA team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Drive investigations of non-conformances and customer complaints, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Develop, review and approve quality documentation such as SOPs, specifications, validation protocols and technical reports.
• Participate in and lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing to ensure compliance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness and compliance within the quality system.

Required profile

• Preferably a diploma in mechanical, biomedical, material engineering or another engineering field, with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience; fresh graduates are welcomed.
• Working hours are 7am to 4pm, normal production shift.

Required skills

• Basic statistical techniques (sampling, trends, SPC) and data analysis and trending.
• Good knowledge of Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Familiarity with Microsoft, Minitab, Power BI or similar tools.
• Understanding of testing equipment concepts such as Instron and pressure gauge testing.
