Quality Control Analyst I – 1 Year Contract

About the role

As a Quality Control Analyst I at Givaudan in Singapore, you will work under regular supervision to evaluate, inspect and analyse raw materials, intermediates and finished goods. The role combines sensory and analytical testing to ensure compliance with product safety regulations, specifications and standards. You will support the research, creation and production units serving the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sensory assessments, including organoleptic odour and visual colour/appearance evaluations.
• Conduct wet‑chemical tests such as pH, acid value, titration and saponification.
• Measure physical properties like specific gravity, refractive index, melting point and flashpoint.
• Execute instrumental analyses using chromatography, GC‑MS, infrared spectroscopy and ICP.
• Record results in laboratory books and systems such as SAP and document any non‑conformances.
• Extract, summarise and collect data for material‑related investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or a related technical field.
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar quality control or laboratory role.
• Previous exposure to sensory evaluation and analytical QC is preferred.
• Willingness to work the 11 am – 8 pm shift and occasional overtime.

Required skills

• Sensory evaluation (organoleptic and visual).
• Wet‑chemical techniques (titration, saponification).
• Physical property measurement (specific gravity, refractive index, melting point, flashpoint).
• Chromatography, GC‑MS, infrared spectroscopy, ICP analysis.
• Operation of laboratory equipment: weighing balance, densitometer, refractometer, moisture balances, Karl Fischer titrator, sieve tester, GC.
• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of chemical substances, hazardous material handling and related regulations.
