Quality Control Analyst

About the role

The Quality Control Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, intermediates and finished products meet the required quality standards. Working within a laboratory environment, the analyst conducts sensory, physical and analytical tests, documents findings and supports continuous improvement of QC processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections on raw materials, intermediates and finished products, including sensory evaluation and physical/analytical testing to verify compliance with specifications.
• Document non‑conformances and investigate customer complaint samples or rejected items, both internal and external.
• Issue technical documents such as Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Certificates of Analysis (COA) and respond to internal and external technical enquiries.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and external calibration of laboratory equipment are performed on schedule.
• Maintain the proper operation of QC laboratories (chemical, sensory, microbiology, retain sample room) in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18001, 5S and lean principles.
• Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within QA/QC functions.
• Carry out ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Food Science and Technology, Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar quality control position.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of gas chromatography and ability to interpret results.
• Familiarity with densimeter and refractive index equipment (preferred).
• Fundamental chemistry knowledge.
• Basic sensory evaluation capability.
• Understanding of ERP systems (advantage).
