Quality Control Chemist

About the role

Air Liquide is hiring a Quality Control Chemist in Singapore. The QC Chemist performs analytical operations to monitor product quality in support of production, documents all test results and acts as the lead QC analyst, mentoring and training QC Technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze raw, in-process and finished materials using GC, FTIR, ICP-MS, process and moisture analyzers, and run all analyses at the primary location
• Ensure timely lab throughput, share production priorities with the lab team and work with R&D to develop and improve analytical procedures
• Lead special projects such as metrology studies and statistical evaluation of lab data
• Support investigations of product defects, non-conforming material and customer complaints
• Document analytical data in the required databases, maintain instruments and complete preventive maintenance
• Conform to ISO directives, calibration requirements and safety policies (HAZWOPER, ECP, LOTO); wear a respirator and Level A suit during emergencies
• Mentor QC Technicians and Production Instrument Operators and take part in continuous improvement

Required profile

• B.S. degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of chemical laboratory experience
• Passes the ALAM pre-employment screening and is active on the emergency response team
• Clean-shaven at all times, able to wear a full-face respirator and Level A suit, and passes the medical tests required
• Preferred: experience in specialty or electronic chemical manufacturing, QA/QC in a production plant, analytical validation and hazardous materials knowledge
