Quality Engineer - Aerospace Inspection

About the role

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defence company, is hiring an on-site Quality Engineer in Bedok, Singapore. The engineer develops inspection plans and procedures for aerospace components and assemblies, supports traceability and certification, and ensures compliance with aerospace quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed inspection plans for aerospace components and assemblies, complying with customer requirements, engineering specifications and regulatory standards.
• Work with design and engineering teams to define inspection methods and criteria for new parts, assemblies and systems.
• Select inspection tools, techniques and measurement equipment (e.g. CMM, optical, gaging).
• Set acceptance criteria and tolerances based on engineering drawings, material specifications and industry standards.
• Create and maintain inspection reports and records, including first article inspections (FAI), in-process and final inspections, so that all activities are traceable and compliant.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, AS9110, AS9120, NADCAP, FAA regulations and customer requirements, and support internal and external audits.
• Investigate quality issues using root cause analysis tools such as 8D, FMEA and Fishbone diagrams, and lead improvements to inspection processes.
• Stay current with inspection technologies and trends in the aerospace industry.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Able to work rotating shifts.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
• Use of inspection tools such as CMM, calipers and micrometers.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Working within a Quality Management System meeting AS9100, AS9102 and AS13100 requirements.
• Competence in Microsoft Office and basic CAD/drawing software.
• Advantageous: knowledge of NDT.
