Radiation Therapist, NCIS (Contract)

About the role

NUHS is hiring a Radiation Therapist for the NCIS unit on a contract basis. The therapist coordinates, plans and administers accurate radiation treatment to patients and works within a multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical support throughout each patient's course of radiation therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform CT simulation, treatment device construction and dosimetry calculations according to the department protocol and the plan approved by the Radiation Oncologist.
• Operate the radiation therapy machine and other supportive equipment in line with standard operating protocols and radiation safety practice.
• Follow safe radiation practices, occupational health hazard prevention and infection control precautions.
• Carry out quality assurance checks on radiation therapy equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of the radiation dose delivered to each patient.
• Ensure high standards of patient care, good clinical communication and timely escalation of side effects.
• Guide and mentor student Radiation Therapists assigned to the unit.
• Take part in departmental, professional development, education and research activities, and accept additional tasks from the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Radiation Technology or a related field.
• 3 years of clinical experience in medical radiation therapy preferred; fresh graduates may be considered for entry-level positions.
• Competent in clinical radiation therapy, including pre-treatment and treatment delivery procedures.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, service-oriented and able to work as a team.
