R&D Lab Specialist

About the role

Brenntag is hiring an R&D Lab Specialist in Singapore. The role covers analytical method development, formulation and process development, laboratory operations, documentation and compliance, technology transfer and data analysis for pharmaceutical products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods according to pharmacopoeia guidelines
• Run pre-formulation studies, formulate and optimize formulations, and develop processes for solid, liquid or other pharma formats
• Carry out benchmarking studies comparing powders and finished products such as tablets
• Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot complex laboratory equipment
• Keep accurate lab notebooks and prepare technical reports, data and standard operating procedures
• Support scale-up and transfer methods from R&D to manufacturing
• Analyze and interpret data, including stability studies, using statistical tools and software

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry or a related field
• Generally 2-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical method development
• Strong understanding of pharmacopoeia guidelines
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams, with strong analytical reasoning and troubleshooting skills

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with laboratory and analytical equipment such as tabletting machines, dissolution and disintegration testers
• Statistical tools and software for data analysis
