R&D Process Engineer - Display & Semiconductor

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and displays, is hiring an R&D Process Engineer in Singapore. The engineer designs and optimizes manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor technologies, collects and analyzes data, performs hardware characterization, troubleshoots engineering issues, measures film properties, generates technical documentation and works with customers and vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on difficult process engineering experiments within safety guidelines
• Perform hardware characterization on difficult systems within safety guidelines
• Troubleshoot complex problems, perform root cause analysis and resolve process engineering issues
• Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations and technical reports
• Interact with customers to resolve process engineering issues with limited supervision
• Measure film properties and interpret data
• Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers with limited supervision
• Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation

Required profile

• PhD, Master's or Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in semiconductor packaging processes such as Fan-Out Wafer Level Packaging, panel-level packaging, thermo-compression bonding, hybrid bonding or die attach
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving attitude with determination and a quality mindset
