Regional Head of Chartering Procurement, Project Logistics Asia Pacific

About the role

Maersk Project Logistics integrates freight forwarding and transport with expertise in complex project planning, transport engineering, procurement and HSSEQ compliance. This Regional Head of Chartering procurement role leads chartering and procurement for project logistics opportunities across Asia Pacific, managing relationships with vessel owners, shipbrokers, carriers and logistics providers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead chartering and procurement for project logistics opportunities across Asia Pacific, and manage supplier selection, onboarding, performance and compliance.
• Maintain a robust, qualified supplier network and lead commercial negotiations on freight rates, charter agreements, service contracts and commercial terms.
• Partner with Business Development, Product, Solution Design and Operations teams to build competitive logistics solutions, support customer tenders and identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Ensure adequate supplier and vessel capacity, monitor supplier performance against KPIs, run regular supplier reviews and support global and regional procurement initiatives.
• Embed HSSEQ requirements in supplier qualification and performance, promote compliance with procurement policies and governance, and mitigate supplier, operational and commercial risks.

Required profile

• 8-10+ years of experience in project logistics, chartering, vessel procurement, breakbulk, heavy-lift or related logistics sectors.
• Strong network with vessel owners, shipbrokers, carriers and specialized logistics providers across Asia Pacific.
• Proven experience negotiating freight, chartering, transportation or logistics contracts, and supporting customer tenders and project pricing.
• Strong supplier and stakeholder management in a regional environment, ability to work in a matrix organization, and strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
