Regional Legal Counsel - ASEAN Markets

About the role

A global technology leader in semiconductor testing and measurement solutions is looking for an experienced Regional Legal Counsel to support its fast-evolving semiconductor and advanced engineering businesses across Southeast Asia. The role combines strategic legal advice, commercial contracting, compliance leadership and emerging technology governance in a highly international environment, with work from home or hybrid arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor supporting business operations across multiple ASEAN markets
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal guidance to senior stakeholders and business leaders
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, technology, software, licensing and supplier agreements
• Advise on regulatory, employment, compliance, intellectual property, data privacy and emerging technology matters
• Support legal risk management and governance initiatives across regional operations
• Develop and deliver legal, compliance and governance training programmes for internal stakeholders
• Partner with global legal teams on cross-border projects, transactions and strategic initiatives

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer admitted in a common law jurisdiction
• Over 10 years of post-qualification experience in private practice and/or in-house
• Strong experience supporting business operations across multiple ASEAN jurisdictions
• Experience in multinational organisations and complex cross-border environments

Required skills

• Commercial contract drafting, negotiation and legal advisory
• Advice on technology, software, data privacy, compliance and regulatory matters
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives and stakeholder management with senior leadership
