Research Assistant (Psychology/Education)

About the role

The School of Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) is recruiting a Research Assistant (Psychology/Education) for a 24-month contract, renewable subject to performance and project needs. The assistant supports the day-to-day implementation of the PATHS study, a Ministry of Education-funded longitudinal investigation of 500-600 Primary 1 students in the Learning Support Programme and Learning Support for Mathematics across 20+ primary schools, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with participating primary schools and coordinate day-to-day research operations
• Administer psychoeducational assessments and experimental tasks one-to-one with students
• Distribute, collect and track parent and teacher questionnaires
• Maintain research records and support data entry, cleaning and quality checking
• Assist with ethics documentation, literature searches, research reports and stakeholder materials
• Train and coordinate part-time student research assistants during data collection
• Perform administrative and procurement tasks as required by the Principal Investigator

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Child Development, Sociology or a related field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with good command of spoken and written English
• Well-organised, self-motivated, able to meet deadlines and willing to travel to school sites
• Preferred: experience administering psychometric or psychoeducational assessments to children, and experience conducting school-based research or working with Primary 1-3 students

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Preferred: familiarity with statistical software such as SPSS, jamovi, JASP or R, and data management
