Research Assistant/Associate – AI & Multi-omics for IVF Prediction

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a Research Assistant/Associate to support a collaborative project that applies machine learning to predict IVF treatment outcomes. The role involves close coordination with hospital partners, rigorous data preparation, and development of baseline predictive models to enhance clinical decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day communication with hospital partners in Mandarin Chinese across clinical, research, and IT teams.
• Manage secure data delivery and transfer logistics, including format conversion, encryption, access controls, and scheduling, while maintaining an action tracker.
• Design and implement data cleaning and harmonisation workflows for structured health‑check data, addressing units, missing values, duplicates, outliers, and ID linkage.
• Develop and maintain a reproducible ETL pipeline with version control and comprehensive data‑quality reporting.
• Build and evaluate baseline predictive models (e.g., logistic regression, gradient boosting) using appropriate training‑validation splits.

Required profile

• Fluent Mandarin Chinese for effective communication with hospital stakeholders.
• Strong attention to data integrity, security, and compliance.
• Experience in handling multi‑omics or clinical datasets and performing data preprocessing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.
