Research Assistant/Associate in Health Data Science

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU is seeking a Research Assistant or Associate to support multidisciplinary projects focused on climate‑ and behaviour‑sensitive infectious diseases such as dengue, syphilis and SARS‑CoV‑2. You will work in a collaborative laboratory environment, applying statistical and mathematical modelling to advance health data science research.

Key responsibilities

• Develop statistical and mathematical models to assess transmissibility of infectious diseases.
• Conduct literature reviews to inform model design and research direction.
• Lead data analysis using statistical and data‑science techniques.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals.
• Generate research questions and hypotheses based on data insights.
• Collaborate with national and international research teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Research Assistant) or Master’s degree (Research Associate) in a relevant field.
• 0–2 years of experience in epidemiology, mathematical modelling, or health data science.
• Strong interest in infectious disease research and ability to communicate findings effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse research team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in programming language Python.
