About the role
We are seeking a Research Associate to join the Cloud Application and Platform Group at NTU’s College of Computing and Data Science. The role focuses on developing advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solutions and supporting energy‑usage research within a collaborative, research‑intensive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop new CFD solutions in partnership with academic and technology partners.
- Provide CFD technical leadership for emerging research programmes.
- Design and implement OpenFOAM methods, processes and workflows.
- Create and optimise mesh, solver and post‑processing methodologies to enhance tool efficiency.
- Support, monitor and troubleshoot CFD tools, ensuring alignment with commercial solvers.
- Research and analyse energy usage across various scenarios, producing reports and mappings.
- Publish research papers and maintain supporting documentation.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Applied Physics.
- Strong organisational and project‑management abilities.
- Effective team player capable of collaborating with multiple groups.
- Practical experience developing in OpenFOAM and/or C++ within a CFD environment.
- Good understanding of commercial CFD solvers such as Fluent, 6Sigma, STAR‑CCM+.
- Experience with energy modelling or related coding platforms.
