Research Associate (Communication, Psychology, Public Health, Behavioral Sciences)

About the role

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is recruiting a Research Associate for the project Transforming Health Behaviour Insights through AI Driven Segmentation Models. The position is based at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) and works under the supervision of Principal Investigator Prof Shirley S. Ho. It focuses on the social science side of the project, supporting a large-scale lifestyle and values survey aimed at psychosocial segmentation of Singapore's adult population, which identifies attitudinal and socio-cultural variables behind trust, risk perception and receptiveness to health messaging.

Key responsibilities

• Engage in literature searches and manuscript preparation.
• Work with vendors to implement and oversee large-scale surveys (about 5,000 participants across Singapore).
• Conduct data cleaning, uploading and management.
• Carry out statistical analysis of the data.
• Coordinate with participants and stakeholders.
• Contribute to research publications, presentations and progress reports.
• Disseminate research findings with the support of and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
• Carry out administrative work and other research work associated with the project.

Required profile

• Master's degree in communication, psychology, public health, behavioral sciences or a related social science discipline.
• Preferred: prior experience in communication, psychology, public health or behavioural science research.
• Preferred: experience in a multi-cultural team environment, initiative, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work both in a team and independently.

Required skills

• Fundamentals of survey research.
• Quantitative data analysis skills (e.g., SPSS, MPLUS or R).
• Knowledge of quantitative methodology and/or computational data analytics preferred.
