About the role
The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is hiring a Hydrodynamics Specialist / Research Associate to provide technical expertise and research support in the analysis, design and optimisation of fluid flow systems for marine, offshore and renewable energy applications. The role advances fundamental and applied hydrodynamics research for offshore structures, floating systems, coastal processes and hybrid renewable energy platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct CFD research and analysis for tidal flow, wind dynamics, hydrodynamics, fluid-structure interaction and offshore environmental systems.
- Develop, validate and apply numerical and experimental models for tidal energy, wind flow, marine structures and coastal engineering.
- Design and run laboratory experiments such as wave tank testing, flow studies, flow visualisation and sensor measurements.
- Plan and run field experiments with in-situ tidal and wind measurements and environmental monitoring.
- Analyse CFD results and experimental data to support system optimisation and engineering design.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and prepare reports, publications, proposals, patents and presentations.
Required profile
- Master's degree in mechanical, ocean, civil, marine engineering or a related discipline, specialising in hydrodynamics, fluid mechanics, CFD or offshore engineering.
- 2-5 years of research or industry experience in CFD, hydrodynamics, fluid flow analysis or offshore/marine engineering.
