Research Associate – Embodied AI & Dexterous Hand Robotics

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a motivated Research Associate to advance perception and embodied intelligence research. You will focus on developing dexterous hand robotic manipulation systems for household services and manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robotic foundation models for general dexterous hand manipulation using vision‑language‑action approaches.
• Create an efficient manipulation learning framework that leverages human instructional videos to reduce data requirements for policy learning.
• Design and implement a dexterous hand manipulation system capable of performing diverse tasks in both household and manufacturing deployment scenarios.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least one year of research experience in robotic manipulation or related areas.
• Demonstrated expertise in robotic manipulation systems and familiarity with robotic foundation models.
• Publication record is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
