Research Fellow/Engineer – AI Solutions for Train Operations

About the role

The Singapore Institute of Technology seeks a Research Fellow/Engineer to contribute to an industry‑driven innovation project developing artificial intelligence solutions for train operations and maintenance. This fixed‑term position offers the chance to work closely with faculty, researchers, students and industry partners on cutting‑edge AI research.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty members, researchers, students and external collaborators on research activities and technology development.
• Support research and development in artificial intelligence and related areas for train operations and maintenance.
• Assist in the coordination and management of the research project, including finance tracking, reporting and communications with industry and research partners.
• Coordinate finance tracking, reporting and procurement activities as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
• Experience in project management, research administration or coordination of large‑scale projects is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with finance management, budget tracking, procurement or grant administration is an added advantage.
• Experience in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, large language models, data analytics or intelligent systems is advantageous.
