About the role
The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at NTU is seeking a motivated Research Associate to advance embodied AI and robotic manipulation. You will work on AI‑driven robotic systems for real‑world applications such as human‑robot interaction, perception, and intelligent control.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement perception and control algorithms for robotic arms and embodied AI platforms.
- Integrate multimodal AI models (vision, language, force sensors) with robotic hardware.
- Conduct experiments in simulated and real‑world environments to evaluate AI‑driven robot behaviour.
- Work with robotic manipulators and mobile robots, maintaining and operating lab equipment.
- Prepare research publications, reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with faculty, post‑docs and industry partners on AI and robotics projects.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least one paper published in a top‑tier AI conference.
- Experience in robotic perception, control or learning‑based methods.
Required skills
- Python programming.
- C++ programming.
- Robotic middleware such as ROS and MoveIt.
- Hands‑on experience with robotic arms (e.g., UR5, Franka Emika).
- Knowledge of machine learning, reinforcement learning or vision‑language models for robotics.
