Research Associate / Fellow – Health, Culture & Society

About the role

The Centre for Health, Culture, and Society (CHCS) at NTU seeks a motivated Research Associate or Research Fellow to advance interdisciplinary research on health, culture, and society. You will work across thematic strands such as Digital Health, Medical Pluralism, Arts for Health, Healthcare Systems, and Disability Studies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and publish interdisciplinary research within CHCS thematic strands.
• Collaborate with hospital, arts, and community partners on cross‑sector projects.
• Assist in preparing grant applications for diverse funding bodies.
• Contribute to teaching activities for the MA in Health, Culture, and Society.
• Mentor student researchers and support patient‑public involvement initiatives.
• Participate in seminars, events, publications, and outreach programmes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant humanities or social sciences discipline.
• Academic expertise in health, culture, and/or society with a commitment to the lifeworld approach.
• Evidence of independent research and scholarly outputs.
• Experience or strong aptitude for interdisciplinary and cross‑sector collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills for academic and non‑academic audiences.
