Research Associate – Fibre Reinforced Polymer Composites

About the role

The School of Materials Science and Engineering at NTU is seeking a Research Associate to contribute to a disaster‑zone enhancement project. The role focuses on developing and testing Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites for strengthening concrete structures used in complex urban rescue operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and experimentally test FRP materials to reinforce concrete beams, columns and other load‑bearing elements.
• Coordinate activities with internal and external collaborators, providing regular progress reports.
• Prepare test videos, technical reports and user manuals documenting experimental results and procedures.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of one year of relevant professional experience.
• Strong hands‑on laboratory skills and the ability to analyse experimental data.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.
• Prior experience with FRP material strengthening is an advantage.
