Research Associate – MEMS Development

About the role

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at NTU seeks a Research Associate to lead interdisciplinary work at the intersection of microfabrication, functional soft materials, and bioactive delivery systems. The position focuses on creating micro‑/nanostructured platforms for controlled release, biological screening, microbial culture, and food or biomedical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with project objectives.
• Design and perform experiments, analyse data, and interpret findings.
• Prepare manuscripts, reports, presentations, and other research outputs.
• Contribute to grant proposals and project documentation.
• Mentor junior researchers and students while maintaining accurate research records.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, ethical, regulatory and institutional guidelines.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Relevant research experience through doctoral training or equivalent activities.
• Experience in manuscript preparation, research presentation or collaborative projects is advantageous.
• Self‑motivated, responsible and capable of contributing to publications and project deliverables.
