Research Engineer – Post‑Quantum Cryptography

About the role

The Singapore Institute of Technology seeks a Research Engineer to join its Infocomm Technology research division. You will work on an industry‑innovation project developing proof‑of‑concept cyber‑security solutions and smart‑nation systems, focusing on post‑quantum cryptography for IoT devices.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, Co‑PI and research team to ensure all project deliverables are met.
• Implement post‑quantum cryptography protocols on IoT devices and evaluate existing protocols.
• Assist in writing research papers for international conferences.
• Coordinate installation of IoT devices, procurement, and vendor liaison.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with work, safety and health regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in Infocomm, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer/Electrical Engineering, IT or equivalent; Master’s or PhD advantageous.
• Strong interest and passion for cyber security with ability to quickly grasp new technologies.
• Self‑directed learner committed to continuous development.

Required skills

• Competence in cyber security and post‑quantum cryptography.
• Experience with IoT device integration.
• Technical writing and presentation skills.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CISSP or GXPN are advantageous.
