Research Fellow – AI for Learning & Intelligent Educational Systems

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to advance the AiBBLe platform – an AI‑enabled brain‑based learning system. The role combines cutting‑edge research in AI for learning with teaching support for undergraduate and graduate courses.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on AI for learning, intelligent educational systems, human‑centred AI, and multimodal analytics.
• Translate AiBBLe’s educational goals into feasible platform logic, prototypes, workflows, and evaluation designs.
• Publish high‑quality journal and conference papers; prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Mentor MSc dissertation students, undergraduate researchers, and project teams; support experiments and pilot studies.
• Assist with teaching duties such as tutorials, laboratory support, and project supervision (up to 350 hours per academic year).

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, HCI, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong research track record in intelligent systems, human‑centred AI, machine learning, multimodal analytics, or learning technologies.
• Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or laboratory instruction.
