Research Fellow – Biochemical Research

About the role

The Luo Lab at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, seeks a highly motivated Research Fellow to advance our understanding of RNA virus infection mechanisms and host defence, and to contribute to structure‑guided antiviral development.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in structural biology and RNA virus‑host interactions.
• Design, execute, and analyse experiments using structural, biochemical, and cell‑based approaches.
• Prepare manuscripts, contribute to grant proposals, and present findings at conferences.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students and support team‑based research activities.

Required profile

• Recent Ph.D. (or equivalent) in structural biology, virology, molecular biology, cell biology or a closely related field.
• Goal‑driven, team‑oriented attitude with strong scientific curiosity.

Required skills

• Cryo‑EM / electron tomography.
• X‑ray crystallography.
• Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
• Biochemistry and molecular biology techniques.
• Virology and cell‑biology methods.
• Experience with high‑resolution biophysical instrumentation.
