Research Fellow – Bioelectronics & Machine Learning

About the role

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Material Science and Engineering at the National University of Singapore seeks a motivated Research Fellow to advance bioelectronics and machine‑learning‑enabled sensing technologies. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, contributing to both experimental and computational aspects of cutting‑edge material research.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research on advanced materials and sensing devices.
• Design, synthesize, fabricate, and characterize functional materials and electronic devices.
• Perform experimental studies and computational modelling to evaluate material properties and device performance.
• Analyse data using statistical methods and machine‑learning tools where appropriate.
• Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and meet grant deliverables.
• Carry out routine laboratory duties and maintain equipment.
• Support additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong experimental research background with a solid publication record.
• Experience in advanced materials synthesis, characterization, and device fabrication.
• Familiarity with computational modelling or data‑driven analysis is advantageous.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
