Research Fellow – Chemist/Material Engineer

About the role
The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at NTU is seeking a Research Fellow to advance electrochemical surface‑finishing technologies. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team to develop and optimise plating and etching processes for advanced materials.
Key responsibilities
- Develop electrochemical processes including electroless plating, electroplating and electrochemical etching.
- Conduct experimental trials, analyse results and optimise process parameters.
- Prepare technical reports, scientific papers and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
Required profile
- PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science & Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in surface finishing and electrochemistry.
- Ability to work safely with lead (inorganic/organic) and mercury compounds.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
