Research Fellow (Communication, Psychology, Sociology, HCI, Social Science)

About the role

The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) at NTU is looking for a Research Fellow to support the project "Intelligent Modelling for Decision-making in Critical Urban Systems (Descartes)". Reporting directly to the Principal Investigator, the Research Fellow handles key administrative and management duties, including literature searches, manuscript preparation, experiment design and data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Keep track of expenditure and the remaining grant budget in an organized way, ensuring spending stays on track with the grant goals
• Liaise with external vendors to buy equipment, software and participant incentives needed for research studies
• Recruit participants for experiments and focus groups, and lead student and Project Officer teams in conducting literature reviews
• Plan logistics for experiments and focus groups, including scheduling, facility booking and IRB documentation
• Take part in collecting qualitative (interviews, focus groups) and quantitative (experiments, surveys) data
• Analyze data using SPSS, R and/or Microsoft Excel, and prepare presentation materials and research documents
• Draft conference and journal submissions based on research findings

Required profile

• PhD in Communication, Psychology, Sociology, Human-Computer Interaction or a related social science discipline
• Demonstrated experience designing, running and analysing experiments (lab or online)
• Prior involvement in research projects, with publication in peer-reviewed journals or conference presentations desirable
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural, interdisciplinary setting
