Research Fellow (Communication Studies, Psychology, Social Sciences, Education)

About the role

The Asian Centre for Health Behavioural Insights & Interventions (HABITS) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to support multidisciplinary health‑behaviour research. The role involves managing research projects from design through data analysis and dissemination, and assisting with competitive grant applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and day‑to‑day management of multiple research projects to meet milestones.
• Prepare and develop competitive research grant applications, including literature reviews, budgeting and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate participant recruitment, scheduling, data collection and study implementation across projects.
• Manage ethics applications, regulatory submissions and ensure compliance with institutional and data‑governance requirements.
• Maintain research databases, secure data storage and accurate study records.
• Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis using appropriate statistical software.
• Prepare research reports, manuscripts, conference abstracts and other scholarly outputs for dissemination.
• Oversee project logistics such as procurement, budgeting, financial tracking and vendor management.

Required profile

• PhD in Communication Studies, Psychology, Education, Social Sciences or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies, including experimental design, surveys and focus groups.
• Prior experience coordinating or managing academic or applied research projects.
• Familiarity with research involving adolescents, digital wellbeing, health, schools or community‑based interventions is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder‑engagement skills for working with schools, government agencies, healthcare organisations and community partners.
