Research Fellow / Engineer (Electronics & Radio Frequency)

About the role

The Singapore Institute of Technology seeks a Research Fellow/Engineer to join an industry‑funded project developing advanced Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance (NQR) scanning technologies. You will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Co‑PI and a multidisciplinary research team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive literature review on NQR design, scanning methods, signal processing and alternative detection technologies.
• Support the design and development of the NQR prototype, including system architecture, component selection and experimental setup.
• Perform laboratory and field tests to evaluate prototype performance and generate design and test documentation at each development stage.
• Coordinate procurement, liaise with vendors, carry out risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics; specialization in RF/Microwave or Digital Signal Processing is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of circuit design, PCB layout and hardware troubleshooting.
• Experience in RF design and measurement; familiarity with high‑power amplifier systems is a plus.
• Experience in DSP design and implementation is advantageous.
