Research Fellow – Experimental Psychology & Neuroscience

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at NTU Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow to join an interdisciplinary Science of Learning team. The role focuses on developing brain‑based machine‑learning models for early identification of mathematical learning difficulties in kindergarten and early primary students.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research and literature reviews.
• Handle grant‑related administrative tasks, including ethics documentation.
• Prepare research progress and policy reports for stakeholders.
• Supervise and lead full‑time, part‑time, and undergraduate research staff.
• Coordinate and run neuroimaging studies, including data collection from young children.
• Develop and manage data analysis pipelines.
• Liaise with faculty, collaborators, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the PI or co‑PI(s).

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (PhD) in experimental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, educational neuroscience, NeuroAI, or related fields.
• Organised, detail‑oriented, and adaptable.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging young children in research settings.
