Research Fellow – Hybrid Materials & Thin‑Film Coatings

About the role

The NTI‑NTU Corporate Laboratory, a joint venture between Nanofilm Technologies International Ltd and Nanyang Technological University, is seeking a Research Fellow to develop hybrid composite materials and advanced thin‑film coating technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Simulate, design, fabricate and characterise plasma process equipment.
• Use COMSOL to model magnetic‑field effects on plasma flow.
• Conduct design simulations to refine and optimise vacuum coating processes.
• Lead R&D projects in material science for new application development.
• Drive the transition from experimental prototypes to scalable production solutions.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive technical reports for funding bodies and corporate stakeholders.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in electronic engineering, material science, chemistry, physics or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of post‑doctoral experience in industry or a recognised research institute.
• Demonstrated expertise in plasma physics, plasma source design and plasma control systems.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications and patent filings.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
