Research Fellow – Neuroendocrinology

About the role

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to join the YES Group. The role focuses on interdisciplinary studies of natural products, functional foods, and dietary bioactives that influence neuroendocrine, metabolic, and gut‑brain axis pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo experiments covering molecular, cellular, biochemical, histological, and animal studies.
• Investigate neuroendocrine regulation, neuroinflammation, metabolism, and gut‑brain axis biology.
• Analyse data, troubleshoot protocols, and maintain accurate research records.
• Contribute to manuscripts, grant applications, progress reports, ethics/IACUC submissions, and conference abstracts.
• Mentor graduate, undergraduate, and junior research staff while ensuring laboratory safety and daily operations.
• Present findings in group meetings, seminars, and scientific conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in neuroscience, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, food science, nutrition, pharmacology, biomedical science, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong research experience in neuroendocrinology, metabolism, gut‑brain axis, neuroinflammation, or related fields.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, communication, and scientific writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
