About the role
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTU Singapore seeks a Research Fellow to advance a project on self‑healing ductile cementitious composites aimed at durable and resilient coastal protection infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research and development of self‑healing ductile cementitious composites.
- Prepare concrete samples and perform mechanical testing.
- Carry out chemical synthesis and analysis of material formulations.
- Characterize microstructure using XRD, TGA, FTIR and SEM‑EDX techniques.
- Report progress against project milestones and publish findings.
Required profile
- PhD in Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Strong academic record with several peer‑reviewed publications.
- Excellent references from previous supervisors.
Required skills
- Chemical synthesis and analysis.
- Concrete sample preparation.
- Mechanical testing of cementitious materials.
- Microstructural characterization (XRD, TGA, FTIR, SEM‑EDX).
- Knowledge of carbon sequestration in cement‑based materials (preferred).
