Research Fellow – Signal Processing & Machine Learning for Drone Swarms

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to advance signal processing and machine learning methods for autonomous drone swarms. The position focuses on developing multi‑agent visual perception capabilities to enable coordinated aerial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement signal processing and machine learning algorithms tailored for drone swarm applications.
• Develop multi‑agent visual perception techniques for collaborative perception across multiple UAVs.
• Carry out software and hardware integration, conduct empirical evaluations, and analyse performance results.
• Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations at internal seminars and conferences.
• Assist the principal investigator with research proposal writing and supervise graduate student projects.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated familiarity with machine‑learning and computer‑vision frameworks.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and pay close attention to detail.
