Research Fellow (Topological Polaritons)

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore is looking for a Research Fellow to join the laboratory of Su Rui. The fellowship contributes to a project focused on topological polaritons within the Division of Physics and Applied Physics, which covers areas such as quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics and photonics.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate topological exciton polariton lattices based on novel semiconductors
• Use electron beam lithography to etch novel lattice patterns
• Perform optical characterisation of structures using various optical spectroscopy methods
• Collaborate with theoretical researchers on designing and optimising new fundamental effects and polaritonic topological lattices
• Perform nonlinear optical measurements using interferometric, angle-resolved and correlation techniques
• Record, manage and store data in line with NTU's data management policies
• Disseminate results through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences
• Write grant proposals and mentor PhD students

Required profile

• PhD in Physics, Optics, Materials Science or Engineering from a reputable university
• Track record of peer-reviewed papers in international journals
• Good written and oral communication skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in microcavity sample fabrication
• Proficiency in optical spectroscopy measurements
