About the role
The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) at NTU is seeking a Research Scientist to advance laser additive manufacturing projects in partnership with industry. The role involves leading experimental work, managing project milestones, and communicating findings to both academic and commercial stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the project with defined milestones and deliverables.
- Conduct hands‑on experiments in laser additive manufacturing.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate results to industry partners and funding agencies.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, materials or manufacturing engineering or a related field.
- At least 8 years of engineering research or hands‑on experience in additive manufacturing.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Required skills
- Laser directed energy deposition (DED) additive manufacturing.
- Microstructural characterization techniques such as metallography and EBSD.
- Mechanical testing including hardness testing.
- Understanding of the link between metallic microstructures and mechanical properties.
