Research Scientist – Quantum Materials

About the role

The Centre for Quantum Sensing Technology at Temasek Laboratories, NTU, is seeking a Research Scientist to lead computational and simulation work on quantum sensing materials. The role supports the development and characterization of next‑generation quantum sensors through modelling and optimisation of device fabrication.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run materials‑related simulations in consultation with the Principal Investigator (PI) to guide experimental design.
• Document simulation methods, ensure proper cross‑validation with experimental results, and present findings in project meetings.
• Align computational support with project objectives and provide training to staff, students, and collaborators.
• Assist the PI with events, publications, proposals, planning, monitoring, reporting, and technical operations related to the lab’s mission.

Required profile

• PhD in physics, engineering, quantum chemistry, materials engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience in computational work focused on density functional theory and quantum‑related simulations.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with experimental researchers is advantageous.
