Resident Architect

About the role

The Resident Architect will support the Qualified Person (Architect) in overseeing architectural works on construction sites, ensuring that all deliverables meet approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the QP(Arch) in supervising architectural works and ensuring compliance with approved documentation.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, and material quality.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, Resident Technical Officers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design and site issues.
• Monitor integration of architectural works with structural and M&E systems and attend coordination meetings.
• Review and recommend approval of shop drawings, material submissions, samples, and mock‑ups.
• Inspect finishes, identify defects, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain site records, inspection reports, photographic documentation, and progress updates.
• Assist in preparing and verifying as‑built drawings.
• Ensure compliance with the Building Control Act, Singapore Building Codes, BCA regulations, and authority requirements (URA, NEA, SCDF).
• Support statutory inspections, documentation, and authority submissions.
• Promote safe work practices and HSE compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognised institution.
• Registered Architect with the Board of Architects (BOA) Singapore or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of site supervision experience in building or infrastructure projects in Singapore.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore building regulations, codes, and statutory submission procedures.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials, architectural detailing, and building systems.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
