Safety and Emergency Response Manager, APAC

About the role

GlobalFoundries, a full-service semiconductor foundry, is hiring a Safety and Emergency Response Manager for the Asia Pacific region. The role works with EHSS, ESG, R&D, engineering and manufacturing operations and supply chain leaders to develop safety strategies and programs, and interfaces with external suppliers, regulators, certification bodies and NGOs. It sets site safety objectives, delegates assignments and maintains processes and procedures that meet regulatory and GlobalFoundries worldwide EHS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Safety Engineers and EHSS experts, and set section goals, priorities, performance metrics and budget
• Drive safety programs that reduce risk and prevent severe injuries, and oversee projects under the Safety Section
• Ensure compliance with company EHS policies, global safety standards and local laws and regulations, including coordinating safety audits for ISO 45001, SS651 and others
• Manage emergency response protocols and readiness, and design EHS training programs for employees and contractors
• Resolve vendor and service provider issues, select professional services, equipment and materials, and coach site personnel
• Analyze safety data trends and develop improvement action plans

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or an equivalent field
• 10-15 years of senior EHS management experience in a multinational, semiconductor or related industry
• Proven ability to design and run safety strategies in complex, cross-functional settings, and experience leading audits and securing regulatory permits
• Fluent English, written and spoken; occasional travel (less than 10%)

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SS651, MOM, OSHA, SEMI, FM Global standards and Responsible Business Alliance principles
• Lead Auditor certification in ISO 14001, ISO 18001/45001 is advantageous
