School Psychologist

About the role

The School Psychologist provides psychological support to students, families, and educational teams. The role involves assessment, counseling, prevention, and collaboration with health professionals to promote student well‑being and academic success.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to individual requests from students, families, and staff regarding personal, family, or educational issues.
• Conduct psychological and cognitive assessments and interpret external reports.
• Advise students, families, teachers, and management on strategies to support learners in difficulty.
• Participate in teacher boards, class meetings, and educational committees to facilitate student care.
• Provide classroom observations and contribute to the screening of exceptional students.
• Collaborate with health and paramedical professionals outside the school.
• Deliver prevention sessions, workshops, and training for teachers, school aides, and nurses.
• Take part in the GAIN group and meetings for students with special educational needs.
• Supervise student assistants, including recruitment, training, and coaching.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Psychology or Educational Psychology.
• Fluency in French; good level of English is desired.
• Experience in a school setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of psychopedagogy and ability to listen, observe, and empathize.
