Senior Advisor - Operational and Closure Readiness

About the role

The Senior Advisor – Operational and Closure Readiness will support Rio Tinto’s modern ERP transformation, moving from ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA. This role coordinates Subject Matter Expert activities for the Move & Sell function, ensuring all readiness tasks are completed on time and to quality standards. It acts as the day‑to‑day operational hub for testing, training, cut‑over and hyper‑care activities across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain activity plans, task lists and trackers for SME deliverables.
• Serve as the primary coordination point between SMEs and Product Group Readiness Leads.
• Mobilise SMEs for product‑group readiness activities within the region.
• Coordinate scheduling, logistics and travel for SME sessions, ensuring site‑specific requirements are addressed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business or a related field.
• Experience working in matrix organisations and engaging SMEs.
• Project management experience with a focus on escalation and issue resolution.
• Commercial or Shared Services background with end‑to‑end Deal‑to‑Contract and Order‑to‑Cash knowledge.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP, particularly S/4HANA.
• Proven ability to plan, schedule and track execution activities, including logistics and dependency management.
