Senior Assembler

This Senior Assembler role sits within the sewing, assembly, delivery and distribution teams, where attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement turn innovative ideas into reality.

Key responsibilities

• Apply skill and dexterity to assemble components into finished devices in line with regulatory and company guidelines.
• Use a wide range of tools and equipment to assemble medical devices accurately and on time across multiple workstations, following work orders and drawings, navigating drawings on computers and entering parts status data.
• Reconcile inventory at the start of the day and when switching to the next work order.
• Follow work instructions and SOPs, record traceable information on device history records and enter data into manufacturing data systems.
• Coach and train lower-level employees, monitor line performance and demonstrate the correct approach to colleagues' work when the Lead is absent.
• Perform line clearance, such as cleaning and sanitising workstations, and ensure components and tools are ready for the build.
• Carry out self-assessment, including visual inspection under magnification, and give constructive feedback while escalating work issues and equipment changes to the supervisor.
• Keep the general work area tidy.

Required profile

• 4 years of previous related experience.
• Secondary education and previous medical device assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English and understand elementary numerical functions.
• Adherence to environmental health, safety and quality guidelines for clean-room medical device manufacturing.
• Proven ability to learn and apply new and advanced procedures after training, and to work with minimal supervision following detailed manufacturing instructions.
• Team player who accepts and gives feedback, and willing to work overtime for continuous manufacturing.
