Senior Assistant Manager, Corporate Communications

About the role

The Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Singapore is looking for a Senior Assistant Manager to join its Corporate Communications team. IMH advances mental health through clinical care, rehabilitation, research, education and community outreach, and the team raises awareness of mental health issues and strengthens IMH's position as a leading mental health institution. The role covers media engagement, event coordination, branding and special projects.

Key responsibilities

• Media management: contribute to media engagement, cultivate stakeholder relationships, develop messaging and narratives, pitch stories and work with mainstream media to secure positive or balanced reporting, including crisis or incident communications
• Event management: support IMH departments with internal and external events and patient/public initiatives, covering planning, logistics, procurement and publicity, and support guest-of-honour matters such as invitations and speeches
• Branding communication: work with the team and departments on brand development projects and campaigns, ensure consistent branding on signage, banners and posters, and help integrate branding into recruitment with the HR department
• Special projects: contribute ad hoc to projects such as video content and heritage initiatives documenting the institution's history

Required profile

• Degree in Communications or a related discipline with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an outgoing personality and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
• Analytical and strategic thinking, able to work independently and in teams
• Good written English; proficiency in a second language is an advantage
• Strong organisational skills and a passion for mental health

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Excel and Word)
• Knowledge of statistics is advantageous
• Design tools and video editing software (e.g. Canva, CapCut) are an advantage
