Senior Assistant Manager – Faculty Affairs

About the role

The School of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Senior Assistant Manager (or Assistant Manager) to lead its Faculty Affairs portfolio. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across recruitment, faculty lifecycle administration, engagement, space planning, and academic events, aligning with College of Engineering and University policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end faculty recruitment, appointments, onboarding, appraisal, promotion and reappointment processes.
• Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain high‑calibre academic talent while ensuring compliance with university governance.
• Drive faculty performance appraisal, career development, leadership succession and welfare initiatives.
• Plan and manage faculty office, laboratory and shared space utilisation to support academic and research priorities.
• Serve as primary liaison for faculty affairs queries, coordinating with College of Engineering, HR, finance and administrative teams.
• Maintain accurate faculty records, produce reports and support strategic planning and data analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing faculty or academic staff recruitment and lifecycle processes.
• Strong understanding of university policies, governance frameworks and HR best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional stakeholder engagements and drive process improvements.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
