Principal, Rewards Advisory

About the role

Mercer is seeking a Principal, Rewards Advisory to lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex total‑rewards projects for clients across industries. You will act as the trusted advisor, translating business strategy into compensation and total‑rewards solutions while driving commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery and commercial ownership of multiple client accounts, ensuring projects are on time, on budget and meet high‑quality standards.
• Design and oversee advanced reward solutions, including job evaluation frameworks, salary structures, STI/LTI architecture, sales incentive plans and executive compensation.
• Drive project governance, risk mitigation, change control and decision‑making pathways.
• Mentor managers and analysts, build capability and own succession planning.
• Lead business development, prepare proposals, negotiate terms and expand existing client relationships.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in total‑rewards or compensation consulting and/or senior in‑house leadership roles.
• Proven ability to manage P&L or revenue portfolio, win new clients and grow engagements.
• Strong client presence, influencing senior executives and boards.
• Excellent project management skills for multi‑stakeholder, cross‑border programs.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership and talent‑development capabilities.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of job evaluation, salary structures, STI/LTI design and executive compensation frameworks.
• Familiarity with local regulatory, tax and governance considerations.
