Senior Assistant Manager / Manager, Corporate Communications

About the role

NHG is looking for a Senior Assistant Manager / Manager, Corporate Communications to join its External and Media Relations unit. The role develops and implements media publicity and engagement initiatives across multiple institutions, platforms and channels to promote the hospital's brand objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Media relations and brand building: develop media cultivation and pitching strategies, build relationships with local media and clinical leaders, monitor mainstream and social media around the clock, prepare quarterly media analysis and KPI reports, work with hospital spokespersons on media queries and prepare a media toolkit (press releases, factsheets, infographics)
• Crisis communications and reputation management: anticipate reputational risks, develop crisis communication strategies, advise senior management, coordinate messages with internal and external stakeholders, maintain crisis SOPs and support emergency preparedness and business continuity exercises
• Social media and content creation: run social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Twitter, create medically accurate video and static content, manage content calendars, scheduling and community engagement, and report on social media metrics

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably in Communications or Journalism
• 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in media and crisis communications in a mid to large organisation
• Good networks with key local media institutions
• Able to work under pressure, tight deadlines and to support after-hours media and crisis responses

Required skills

• Excellent written and oral communication and storytelling skills
• Strong understanding of social media trends and use of social media management tools and analytics platforms
• Producing organic content such as infographics in Canva; post-production with Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut is an advantage
