Senior Automation Engineer

About the role

West Pharmaceutical Services is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer in Jurong. As technical lead, you will drive improvements across manufacturing and business processes through automation, digitalization and innovation, lead complex engineering projects and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, reliability and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of the site automation and innovation roadmap.
• Lead automation, digitalization and process optimization projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
• Develop, maintain and improve PLC, SCADA, HMI, MES and related automation applications.
• Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting, investigations, deviations, CAPAs and change controls.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Validation and IT to deliver sustainable improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment reliability, productivity and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, quality, cybersecurity and engineering standards.
• Coach, train and guide engineers, technicians and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering or automation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects and troubleshooting complex technical issues.

Required skills

• Experience with PLCs, SCADA/HMI platforms, industrial communication protocols and automated manufacturing systems.
• Preferred: Siemens, Rockwell, DeltaV, Ignition, Wonderware or similar platforms.
• Preferred: industrial networking, data historians, digital transformation and smart manufacturing concepts.
• Preferred: project management, stakeholder management, GMP/GAMP and computerized system validation.
